The Climate Policy Center (CPC) of Clean Air - Cool Planet works at the national and international levels to develop smart policies to counter global warming. CPC grew out of the Sky Trust project, launched in 1999 to promote a market-based, economy-wide plan for reducing carbon emissions by allocating emission allowances to individuals. Since its establishment, CPC has pursued an increasingly broad approach to innovative global warming solutions. These include market-based emissions reduction strategies, transformative energy research proposals, policy approaches to adaptation, and policy innovations to link domestic mitigation efforts with international progress. CPC's strategic goal is to develop a U.S. climate change policy that is economically efficient, environmentally sound, pragmatic, and bipartisan.
