Our work with communities depends on our strong relationships with other organizations in the northeast that are working at the community level.

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability

Carbon Coalition - Formed in 2003 by Clean Air-Cool Planet in collaboration with political and community leaders from throughout New Hampshire, to bring the global warming message directly to the 2004 presidential candidates – and by extension the general public – by focusing strategically on candidate presence in New Hampshire towns and cities in advance of the New Hampshire primaries. Still a going concern, the Coalition is active in New Hampshire issues relating to global warming.

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund – Driving renewable energy and global warming initiatives throughout Connecticut, one of the Fund’s recent activities include Project 100 to promote new renewable energy. We also work very closely with the CT Department of Environmental Protection on global warming initiatives throughout the state including the CT Science Center Collaborative. CT DEP maintains the www.ctclimatechange.com website.

Environmental Advocates of New York - Environmental Advocates serves the people of New York as an effective and aggressive watchdog and advocates on nearly every important state environmental issue.We are working with EANY on a letter supporting the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative from Mayors all over the Northeast.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) – FCM supports climate protection work in Canadian Communities, and we are coordinating with them on cross-border support and our study trips to Canada.

Green House Network – Oregon-based GHN has a national Speaker’s Network and co-organizes our annual “Building the Movement to Stop Global Warming” trainings in Boston.

Massachusetts Climate Action Network –MCAN hosts trainings on grassroots community organizing and provides numerous resources to activists working in communities throughout Massachusetts, particularly the greater Boston area. CA-CP partners with MCAN – as well as Greenhouse Network – to host our annual “Building the Movement to Stop Global Warming” summer trainings on Thompson Island.

Natural Resources Council of Maine - Part of the Maine Global Warming Action Coalition of which CA-CP is also a member, NRCM deals with a gamut of environmental issues in Maine. They working closely on several important air and energy campaigns that CA-CP supports, including clean car legislation and state implementation of the New England Governors’/Eastern Canadian Premiers’ Regional Climate Change Action Plan.

New England Governors / Eastern Canadian Premiers - We are working to help this regional organization support more community-level climate action.

New England Grassroots Environmental Fund - NEGEF provides small seed grants and training to community organizations throughout New England.

The Tellus Institute - We work with The Tellus Insitute in Boston to collaborate on scientific studies and analytical tool development.
