- Climate Wire is an international news clipping service focused specifically on climate change news. You can subscribe to receive daily climate change headlines via email. The site also offers archived articles for background reading on specific climate change-related topics, and a geographical breakdown of news.
- Climate Ark provides daily news on climate change as well as a huge news archive and a climate search engine.
- Climate Hot Map Find out what's happening in many corners of the world, including yours, as the climate heats up.

NOVA and Frontline have created an engaging, interactive website from PBS that explores the science behind global warming and provides a hands-on game to reveal your "carbon diet."

Website based on the book The Heat Is On: The Climate Crisis, The Cover-Up, The Prescription, by Ross Gelbspan, (Perseus Books,1998). Gelbspan is a 1984 Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, including Nightline, All Things Considered, and Talk of the Nation. He also was an editor and reporter for 31 years at The Philadelphia Bulletin, The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe.
- Public Eyes Television is an outlet committed to independent, “big picture” coverage of environmental issues; they note that environmental issues get only 4% of the total news coverage granted issues by corporate-controlled big media, and seek to right that problem. This site contains a wealth of information and resources on environmental science, policy and change, in real time.
- RealClimate.org is a blog created by nine working climate scientists; it offers information related to current climate events or news. A fabulous resource for technical, relevant information and commentary, geared particularly toward journalists and interested individuals.
- The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is an international group of more than 2000 climate experts that produce the most comprehensive reports on the state of the science.
- ClimateChangeEducation.Org: a portal site dedicated to Climate Change Education. This is one of the best resources for climate science educational materials out there.
- From the U.S. Global Change research information office, "Dr. Global Change" offers a searchable collection of answers to questions about global warming, ozone depletion, greenhouse gases and other issues related to climate change. Students can also submit questions of their own and explore related links. This reference service also assists researchers, educators, resource managers and others in finding information relevant to global environmental change.
- GCRIO provides access to data and information on climate change research, adaptation/mitigation strategies and technologies, and global change related educational resources on behalf of the US Global Change Research Program.
- Summary overviews of recent science related to climate change, from Harvard Medical School's Center for Health and the Global Environment.
- The US Environmental Protection Agency's global warming site, including information on federal programs and assistance.
- The US National Assessment on Climate Change and the New England Regional Assessment provide the latest on potential climate impacts.
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) site provides the latest on US weather and climate, with links to the National Climate Data Center and information about fisheries and coral reefs.

- Read about LEED: Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED™) is the premier product of the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a consensus-based, voluntary rating system created to define and measure the standard for green building. LEED evaluates the environmental impact of buildings based on criteria outlined under five focused areas: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Innovation in Design credits are also awarded for incorporating creative concepts outside of the scope of the standard program. - A stellar Canadian website, Climate Change Solutions, focusing on detailed examples of how people
are achieving real emissions reductions in all sectors of society.
- Cool the Earth Inc.'s mission is to educate children and families about climate change and motivate them to take simple, measurable actions to become more energy efficient, ultimately using natural resources more responsibly. Collectively, these actions significantly impact global warming. Cool the Earth offers its grassroots climate change program and materials at no cost to any K-5 school in the country.
- World
Wildlife Fund's extensive site deals with US and international
climate policy and has some of the best information about the threat
global warming poses to wildlife and ecosystems.
- The Natural
Resources Defense Council provides a lot of information on climate,
energy and transportation policy as well as useful resources on electricity
deregulation and green electricity.
- Climate
Solutions is trying to do for the Northwest, what Clean Air-Cool
Planet is aiming to achieve in the Northeast.
- The web site of the US
Climate Action Network. A resource for activists and environmentalists,
and a non-profit perspective on the latest news from international
climate negotiations.
- Boston-based Union
of Concerned Scientists provides excellent background information
on the science and policy of climate change and energy issues.
- The home page for the Pew
Center on Global Climate Change, which works to engage large corporations
in supporting and implementing climate solutions.
- Through grassroots organizing, innovative strategies, and clean
energy expertise, Power Shift is dedicated to driving clean energy market breakthroughs
and building the grassroots base to stop global warming while working for government
and corporate accountability.

- Project Laundry
List is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that aims to demonstrate
that personal choices can make a difference for the Earth and its
people. Its focus is on North America's over-dependence on nuclear
power and other unsustainable forms of energy.

website so people looking to buy a new vehicle will have all the
facts about SUVs.
