"Report cards" for participants in the regional climate change action plan have been released by the New England Climate Coalition. CT and MA were given the highest grades of the six U.S. states involved, and Northeast leadership on the issue was recognized, but all of the marks were low enough to indicate a need for even greater efforts. (NY and NJ were not rated since they were not signatories to the 2001 New England Goverbors/Eastern Canadian Premiers Climate Action Plan.)

Richard spearheads development and fundraising efforts from CA-CP’s New Canaan, Connecticut office. He joined CA-CP’s management team this spring, coming from the New Jersey Conservation Foundation (NJCF), a Far Hills, New Jersey based land trust where he was Chief Operating Officer, managing fundraising, communications and administration. Richard was at NJCF for nearly five years and was the driving force behind the NJCF’s raising $5.2 million in private funds for their successful 2003 purchase of a 10,000 acre property in the NJ Pine Barrens – the largest private conservation deal in the state’s history.
Prior to that he was Director of Finance for the New York Region of The Nature Conservancy, and later became Deputy Director and Director of Corporate Development for TNC’s New York City office. He also represented TNC on the Hudson River Park Alliance.
Richard previously worked in banking in Boston and New York City. He studied liberal arts at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and has a B.S. in Business Administration from Salem State College. Richard splits his time between New York City and the Berkshires. We are pleased to have him as part of the team here at CA-CP!
