OUTREACH and EDUCATIONAL TOOLS Colleges and universities have discovered that installing a PV panel or creating a green purchasing program is only the beginning of the story. The work continues with the challenge of communicating the significance of the project to stakeholders and managing the exploding interest in real-world examples of low-carbon solutions. We’ve learned that our partners in the Massachusetts public school system have excellent examples of outreach strategies – whether on-site informational installations geared toward multiple audiences, or strategies focused specifically for faculty or students. We’ve compiled a list of best practices in communicating about low-carbon campus planning to multiple university audiences. Click on the audiences below to see these great examples from Massachusetts and a few exceptional examples from the national higher education community. We’ve also learned that communication takes a large amount of time for campus facilities and sustainability staff. And not every school is able to launch a PR campaign with each new renewable energy installation or green building constructed. With this in mind, we’ve created poster, brochure, and fact sheet templates for our partners in Massachusetts. They’re customizable for use on any campus. Need a brochure in a hurry? Or a poster for your next meeting? Click on the links below. Modification directions are embedded in the files.
These templates were made possible by the generous support of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative.
