The latest edition of the Campus Carbon Calculator, Version 5, is now available for download!  Version 5 includes new features, updates and corrections - and has been peer reviewed to bring it more closely in accordance with standards for greenhouse gas accounting developed as part of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

You can download the Campus Carbon Calculator below. This tool contains a Microsoft Excel file (a series of spreadsheets) and Microsoft Word file (a User's guide), and provides all of the technical information, the data input structure, and the calculations necessary to complete a campus emissions inventory. 

Clean Air-Cool Planet asks that you simply register in order to download the Calculator. Registration implies agreement with the following terms:

1. The Campus Carbon Calculator is designed to help campus staff, faculty, students and administrators document and understand the campus greenhouse gas footprint.  The Calculator can help a campus in taking the first step toward a comprehensive Climate Action or Climate Neutrality Plan.  Organizations or entities wishing to use the Calculator for other purposes should contact CA-CP.  CA-CP reserves all copyright privileges.
2. When presenting the results of your campus greenhouse gas inventory, whether in written reports or spoken presentations, please credit the "Clean Air-Cool Planet Campus Carbon Calculator" as a tool you used to complete this task.
3. Many campuses want to share the results of the inventory with their constituents and the general public once it's completed.  Whether or not you are making your inventory public, download and use of the Calculator implies willingness to share results of the inventory with CA-CP, only for purposes of aggregating U.S. campus inventory results.  Results are expected to be shared upon completion.  CA-CP will keep these results completely confidential unless express written consent is given to the contrary.
4. CA-CP will not be responsible for verifying your results from the Campus Carbon Calculator, and assumes no liability for the accuracy of your final data or its use on your campus.
